My Story

I'm Nasir Khan Saikat — a software engineer, photographer, and author from Dhaka, Bangladesh. My work sits at the intersection of technology, community, and creativity, always driven by the belief that open knowledge changes lives.

As a full-stack developer, I build web applications for government agencies, international NGOs, and private firms. My stack centres on PHP/Laravel and JavaScript, with a focus on building systems that last.

Since 2001, I've contributed to Wikipedia and Wikimedia as a volunteer, including a period as an administrator of Bengali Wikipedia. I'm also a founding member of Wikimedia Bangladesh. I believe open knowledge is one of the most powerful forces for equity in the world.

As Director of Bangladesh Flying Labs, I lead a hub using drones, AI, and data to address real problems — from agricultural monitoring to disaster response — and train a new generation of STEM leaders.

Behind the camera, I specialise in architectural photography and 360° virtual tours. My images are used commercially and contributed freely to Wikimedia Commons.

I've published three books in Bangla — on Ubuntu Linux, PHP web development, and Scratch programming — because I believe every learner deserves resources in their mother tongue.
